27:12. וַיַּאֲמֵן אָכִישׁ בְּדָוִד לֵאמֹר הַבְאֵשׁ הִבְאִישׁ בְּעַמּוֹ בְיִשְׂרָאֵל וְהָיָה לִי לְעֶבֶד עוֹלָם ׃ פ

27:12. יב ויאמן אכיש בדוד לאמר  הבאש הבאיש בעמו בישראל והיה לי לעבד עולם  {פ}

27:12. וַיַּאֲמֵן אָכִישׁ בְּדָוִד לֵאמֹר הַבְאֵשׁ הִבְאִישׁ בְּעַמֹּו בְיִשְׂרָאֵל וְהָיָה לִי לְעֶבֶד עֹולָם׃ פ

27:12. ‏וַיַּאֲמֵ֥ן אָכִ֖ישׁ בְּדָוִ֣ד לֵאמֹ֑ר הַבְאֵ֤שׁ הִבְאִישׁ֙ בְּעַמּ֣וֹ בְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְהָ֥יָה לִ֖י לְעֶ֥בֶד עוֹלָֽם׃ פ

27:12. So Achish trusted David, thinking to himself, "He is really hated among his own people in Israel! From now on he will be my servant."

27:12. Achish believed David and thought to himself, "By now the people of Israel must hate him bitterly. Now he will have to stay here and serve me forever!"

27:12. And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.

27:12. And Achish trusted David, thinking, "He has made himself an utter stench to his people Israel; therefore he shall always be my servant."

27:12. Achish began to trust David and said to himself, "Now David's own people hate him. The Israelites hate him very much. Now he will serve me forever."

27:12. Achish believed David, saying, He has made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant forever.
